i’m baaaaaaack!
ok, this was not one of those sleep-in-every-day vacations. my dad is an early riser, and is on the 6:30 train every morning, and i, not being one to sleep my day away while manhattan is right outside the front door, was on the train with him and my brother every morning. surely, you’re thinking, you slept in on the weekend, right? but not so. there was new york’ing to be done then as well. so now i’m back to the daily grind, sleeping in every morning until the crack of 8:00. as much as i miss the energy on the streets of ny, it’s good to be home with my own shower, my own couch, my guitars…
stuff i saw that struck me as funny:
- a man in a full business suit and tie, carrying a briefcase, riding a [razor] scooter to the office
- a muslim in full traditional garb reading a pocahantas comic book at a street vendor’s table
- a pigeon chasing a woman down the sidewalk
- david letterman (i attended a taping, and he strikes me as funny)
- an old crone in her 70’s exiting a subway car, berating a guy for cutting her off with his suitcase
- a box truck apparently belonging to a plumber, with a logo on the side (see pic below)
- a bistro that advertised free wi-fi, but no power outlets (ok, not funny ha ha, just odd)
